Almost 150,000 people immigrated to Ireland in the 12 months to the end of April

This is evidenced by new report from the Central Statistical Office.
This figure includes 30,000 returned Irish nationals, 27,000 other EU nationals and 5,400 British nationals.

The remaining 86,800 immigrants were citizens of other countries.

The arrival of a large number of Ukrainian citizens during this period of time “significantly” contributed to this influx in 2024, the report says.
