It is the European Capital of Smart Tourism 2025. Cities are evaluated in four main categories: sustainability, accessibility, digitalization, cultural heritage and creativity. The Ukrainian city of Lviv was chosen as one of the finalists.
The winner will be announced in November in Brussels, where Lviv will compete with the cities of Brussels, Genoa, Konya, Lahti, Porto and Turin.
Winning this competition means a potential increase in tourist flow for Lviv.
in 2024, the competition was won by Dublin in Ireland, in 2023 by Paphos in Cyprus and Seville in Spain, and in 2022 by Valencia in Spain.
